Where is Jesus?
pastor corner

This is the Christmas season where Christians around the world celebrate the coming of the Savior, Jesus, who came to earth as a baby in a manger more than 2000 years ago. In the Bible there is a story of wise men who were searching for this child, asking this question: “Where is the one who has been born king of the Jews”? In essence they were asking where Jesus Christ was at that time.

There are many today still asking this question. They have heard about Him, how He is supposed to come into a person’s life transforming them into better people. He is supposed to be living through them, offering grace, mercy, and love. I wonder what those who are searching are actually seeing in the lives of those of us who are professing this new life. Too many times they are seeing unconcern, judgement, self-righteousness and hatred.

I also wondered if Jesus came back to earth again, as He did before, where would you find Him? Probably among those who are in deep need. He said He came, the first time, in order to seek out the lost. I presume this is where we need to be as well; among those who need and are seeking grace, mercy and love.

As the wise men followed the star, may we be shining lights that lead others to Jesus.
