We’re all leading in some direction
pastor corner

My mother-in-law recently passed away after an extended illness.

She was a woman of faith and always prayed for her family. She sent cards encouraging us to always serve the Lord. She was also a talented painter, and we have several of her paintings on our walls.

I was just looking at one the other day that shows an elderly woman standing in a field pointing her cane into the horizon. The message I received from this picture was that the lady was showing others that the direction she was pointing was the way to go.

This seemed to be my mother-in- law’s calling in life – showing and telling others the way they should be going. She wanted all of us to end up in heaven because we chose the right way to live – the life of following Jesus Christ.

Whether we like it or not, each one of us is pointing others in one direction or another. We are doing so by the lives we live and by the words we speak. So we first must know the right direction to go and then ask the Lord to help us point the way.

Jesus instructed his disciples to “go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation.” It needs to start in your world where God has placed you.
