We’re all invited to follow Jesus

I was watching a football game the other day and saw a defense that needed to stop the other team one more time and then they could run out the clock and win.

They missed stopping them by just two inches and lost the game.

Having the privilege of going to heaven is not dependent on us doing enough good works.

In other words, we are not going to show up at the pearly gates and be denied entrance because we missed going to two services or because we were short on performing two acts of kindness.

The scripture tells us that getting into heaven is based on our relationship with God brought about by choosing to become a follower of His Son. 1 John 5:12 says, “Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have the Son of God does not have life.”

The truth is, we are either in or out, not mostly in or mostly out.

The good news is that the decision that determines where we stand is up to us. We all are invited to follow Jesus which means, if you are out you can be in.
