Editor,

As you can tell from the many political signs that are popping up every where, the election season is upon us.

Sam Davis, probate judge and election superintendent, is expecting a high volume of voters for the primary on July 31. This could mean long lines at the polls on Election Day.

However, if we would all take advantage of the early voting instead of waiting until July 31, long lines may not be necessary. Here are the early voting times:

• Monday, July 9, through Friday, July 27, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

• Saturday, July 21, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Early voting will be in the courthouse in Pembroke and in the county administration building on Capt. Freeman Drive in Richmond Hill.

Also, the transportation special purpose local option sales tax (TSPLOST) referendum is on the ballot for July 31. Please study the transportation plans for our county and make an informed decision.

It is vitally important that you exercise your right to vote for the candidate of your choice.
