This is my birthday week, and I am wondering where this past year has gone. It reminds me of a verse found in Ephesians 5:16 where we are told to “make the most of every opportunity” or to “redeem the time”.

We only have so much time on this earth to fulfill our purpose and to make a difference in the lives around us. This is why it is so important to find out what your calling is and how you can be most effective in living out God’s will for your life.

We need to understand that life is too short to let things get in the way of our building positive relationships. Be the better person and do what’s necessary in order to mend broken relationships.

We can’t go back and relive the past, but we can control what we do with our future.

Each day may we get into the practice of praying a prayer something like this, “Lord, help me today to take advantage of the time you have given me and to let my light shine and the result being that people will offer praise to you”.
