The greatest miracle
pastor corner

This new year our theme at our church is “a year for miracles”. Each week the sermons will deal with a different story of a miracle found in the scriptures. History as well as these scriptures are full of miracles; everything from the miracle of creation to the miracles performed through Jesus and the early Apostles. I do believe that the Lord is still performing miracles that cannot be explained through nature or scientific laws.

As wonderful as these miracles are, the greatest miracle of all is a changed or transformed life brought about through the presence of the Holy Spirit in one’s life. One of the main reasons why this is so miraculous is because it is a work that only God can do in our lives. 2 Corinthians 5:17 says it this way: “Therefore if anyone is in Christ, this person is a new creation; the old things passed away; behold, new things have come”.

I have always said that to be eligible for any of God’s miracles you first must have a problem. The scripture reminds us in Romans 3:23 that “all have sinned”, which reveals that we all need the miracle of salvation. Also, the good news is that we are promised in scripture that “everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved”.
