The God that doesn’t change
pastor corner

There have been several times that I have driven through Richmond Hill with a grandchild and pointed out different buildings or communities that had not been built when I moved here over 23 years ago. Because of the fast growth of this area, we have seen a lot of change.

When I visit back home where I was raised, I can drive down the road where I lived growing up and the vast majority of the homes are not occupied by the same people or families that used to live there.

Also, people do change sometimes for the better but also sometimes for the worse.

The truth that I am getting at today is the fact that our world is ever changing and will continue to do so, but the God over the universe is different. In the Old Testament book of Malachi, God is speaking about Himself and He says it this way, “I the Lord do not change”.

Then in the New Testament, the writer of Hebrews speaks of the second person of the triune God, Jesus Christ, this way, “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever”.

For those of us who are trusting in God, we can be assured that He can be trusted and His love and faithfulness to us will never change.
