Telling our story
pastor corner

In Psalm 107:2, we are encouraged to let others know how much the Lord has done for us by saying, "Let the redeemed of the Lord tell their story."

In the case of this writing, he was speaking to the Israelites who had been delivered from a life of bondage and oppression. In our day, the writer would have said, "Let those who are saved by the blood of Jesus, those who have been born anew, tell their story."

Every one of us who are followers of Jesus Christ have our stories. Some of us are thankful for being raised under the guidance of godly parents and spiritual leaders and can tell our story of God's faithfulness along the journey.

Others heard the message of salvation at different stages of life and can share how that decision has changed their lives. Some have more dramatic stories than others, like being delivered from addictions or lives spiraling out of control because of sin. We all should have our stories of God's faithfulness and love that we can't earn, nor do we deserve.

The truth of the matter is there are so many people around us that need to hear our stories in order to have hope in what seems to be a hopeless world. They need to know that there is a God who cares for them and loves them no matter who they are or what they have done.

If you are a follower of Jesus Christ, you must understand that there are others who are watching you and need to hear what you can say to them concerning your faith in Christ. They are searching for answers to their questions and God has given us the responsibility to share what we know to be truth.
