Take time to grow your faith
pastor corner

There are a couple of questions that seem natural when we think about the topic of growing in your faith.

First of all, you have to possess a saving faith that believes and knows that Jesus Christ has forgiven you from your sins and has come into your life. Romans 3:28 tells us that we are justified or saved by faith alone.

In other words, we can’t earn it or purchase it – it is a gift from God. So the question is, do you believe that Christ is in your life and do you believe that your sins are forgiven?

But it doesn’t stop there. There is a need to grow in your faith and your relationship with God.

2 Peter 1 tells us to add to our faith such things as goodness, knowledge, self-control, patience, godliness, brotherly kindness and love. This is not a complete list of virtues but some key ones to work on.

The good news is that we can be transformed in all of these areas because earlier in this same chapter we are promised that God will give us everything we need in order to live a godly life. It also tells us that we take on a new nature when God, through his Holy Spirit, comes into our lives.

We really have no excuse because the Lord is inviting us all to take part in the faith he offers us.
