Stories of God’s goodness
pastor corner

In Psalm 103:3 we read, “Praise the Lord, my soul, and forget not all his benefits-- who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases....”

As a result of God’s willingness to forgive, we can be in a right relationship with Him. But God also has the power to heal our diseases.

I do believe that God has a plan for each one of us and healing on this earth may or may not be part of that plan.

I also believe that ultimate healing will come in the afterlife for everyone who ends up in the wonderful place God has prepared for true believers. God always wants what is best for us which is part of His goodness.

We as a family have been blessed beyond what we deserve. None of my immediate family are suffering from any major physical issues and for this we are thankful and blessed.

I can think of one of several times where we saw the miraculous hand of God intervene on our behalf.

When my son was 8 or 9 years old, he had melanoma in the head area that had to be cut out, leaving a scar to this day. Sometime after this, we noticed several lymph nodes swelled leading down his neck from where the surgery had taken place. My wife took him to the doctor who gave him some antibiotics thinking the swelling was from an infection. A week later she took him back to the doctor because the lymph nodes had doubled in size. He immediately set up an appointment with the cancer specialist that same afternoon. We solicitated prayer on his behalf before this appointment, trusting in the Lord to help our son.

When he was taken in to see the specialist, miraculously there was absolutely no swelling in any of the lymph nodes. Actually, this specialist was upset that the doctor would ask for an emergency appointment for a boy that had no issues. We know that the only explanation is that our son was touched by the healing hand of God.

I am sure that there are many of you who have your stories you could tell of God’s goodness through the healing touch of God.
