Reaping what you sow
pastor corner

Galatians 6:7 tells us that “a man reaps what he sows”. This means that a person’s actions have consequences.

On the positive side, if our actions are good then generally speaking our results will be good. If we give, then we will be given back to in our time of need. By the way, needs are not always material in nature. If we treat others with respect, then others will treat us with respect. If we are lenient in the way we judge others, then others will be lenient in the way we are judged.

On the negative side, if our actions are wrong then the consequences will not be in our favor. If we refuse to give to others, then we shouldn’t expect others to give to us in our time of need. If we refuse to respect others, then most likely others will struggle to respect us. If we are quick to judge others, then others might find it more difficult to not judge us strictly.

Applying this verse to our spiritual life, if we commit our lives to Jesus then we will receive forgiveness and the promise of eternal life but if we reject Him and choose to live a life controlled by sin then we will receive the consequence of God’s eternal judgement.

The great news is that we get to choose and if we choose Jesus, then the reaping is way more than we deserve.
