Practicing honesty
pastor corner

During the last few months, I have been so thankful to see examples of people being honest. The first being a situation where we accidently dropped some money in the parking lot of a bank and realized it a few minutes later.

We went back and went into the bank and enquired about someone possibly turning it in. To our surprise some honest person did turn it in. Another situation happened at Sam’s Club where my wife left her purse at the dining area on a bench. We realized it after getting all of the way back to Richmond Hill and quickly turned around and headed back there as well as calling them to see if one had been turned in. Again, we were pleasantly surprised to find that an honest person had turned it in to customer service and nothing was missing. I really believe that God has put a conscience in each of us if we will only listen to it. Also having Jesus in us sure helps us to become better listeners.

The huge question is if you were the one who found either the money or the purse, what would you have done? 1 John 3:18 says, “let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth”. It is easy to speak highly of ourselves, but it is much harder to live this out in our daily lives.
