Our lives are but a short season
pastor corner

I was sitting at the counter this morning eating breakfast and looking up I noticed a vase filled with roses that were starting to fade. It reminded me of what Peter wrote in 1 Peter 1:24 where it reads, “All people are like grass, and all their glory is like the flowers of the field; the grass withers and the flowers fall”.

We are born into this world and our journey here is but for a short period of time. Even if we should happen to live for a hundred years, this is short compared to eternity.

Since we have such a short time, and not guaranteed of another day, we should treasure every day.

The most important thing for us to do on this earth is to honor God by following His Son Jesus Christ and live a life that pleases Him.

We need to make a positive difference during the time we have here.

Also, we need to make amends with any that we have a conflict of some kind with. Most issues stem from something that is so insignificant and is not worth the loss of friendship and unity.

So, we need to thank God for each new opportunity and privilege we have to serve God and others.
