Noticing the beauty of God’s creation
pastor corner

I know it is easy to be so busy and so distracted that we miss out on observing much of the creative nature of God. Just recently I said to my wife, “why don’t we go and watch the sun go down?”

There was this place where we could drive to, that was only 5 miles away from we live, where the sunset is breathtaking as it disappears over the water.

So, we did, and it was worth us taking the time.

Also, this week we took a few days off to take our annual trip to the mountains. On this trip I intentionally paid attention to the beauty around me, even as I drove to our destination.

I saw partial rainbows, more sunsets, and mountain peaks in the distance.

I saw fall foliage displays and cotton fields as white as snow. In the book of Psalms, David wrote in chapter 19 and verse 1, “The heavens declare the glory of God, and the sky above proclaims his handiwork”. This beauty which God has created is all around us each day if we will slow down and take notice of it. Then we need to praise Him for the privilege we have to enjoy it.
