Church honors 'folks who serve'

Dear Editor: The Pembroke United Methodist Church of Pembroke hosted a special service Sunday July 11, to honor the folks who serve  the city of Pembroke. There were folks there that represented the life of the city of Pembroke and Bryan County. The city of Pembroke was represented by Mrs. Judy Cook, the mayor of Pembroke, along with the city council members as well as folks from the EMTs, the fire department , the police department and the sheriff’s department. Everyone was there to be honored by the church for the morning worship Dr. Larry Sauls Pastor spoke on how important these folks are to the future of the city of Pembroke and Bryan County. A covered dish lunch was served by the ladies of the church followed the service. Dr. Sauls stated we are privileged to have this caliber of people serving this community.
