American Legion forgotten in Richmond Hill
Placeholder Image
Dear editor: Only in Richmond Hill can a veterans group consisting of more than 3 million veterans be forgotten on Veterans Day. You can tell Ms. Jan Bass doesn’t work for city hall anymore.
American Legion Post, Richmond Hill’s post, has been insulted by city hall. What we stand for, veterans and their families, active military, national guards and reserves – they are who we assist, who we take care of, who we respect and love for their duty and service. The members of Post No. 27 may attend Richmond Hill’s event, but I – the commander – will go to Pembroke and honor those who served.
I will, however, assist veterans in Richmond Hill. The American Legion is going to be working the Georgia Education Department concerning children of the military to provide educational scholarships
For God and country, God bless our veterans and active military, and God bless America.

William B. Helms Jr.
Commander
American Legion Post 27
