Guest opinion: Blue Bell ice cream has hometown flavor
Guest columnist

By Jon Seagraves.

The Development Authority of Bryan County would like to highlight Blue Bell, an ice cream manufacturer headquartered out of Texas. Blue Bell has a small ice cream transfer station located in the Interstate Centre industrial park in Bryan County, where the company moves approximately 6,200 gallons of ice cream per week. That’s over 300,000 gallons per year! There are 10 employees at this location who work hard to serve the facility’s territory in areas extending from Wadley and Midway, Georgia, all the way to Beaufort, South Carolina.

Blue Bell started serving Bryan County in 2001 out of their Jacksonville Branch, and the area was so successful that the company decided to build a facility here to better serve the growing demand. Since locating in Interstate Centre, the company has seen tremendous growth in both brand awareness and sales activity. Just this year, Blue Bell was able to establish yet another new delivery route for the Bryan County facility. As the area continues to grow, the company is always looking at the best ways to serve the area effectively and continue to grow their client base throughout the coastal empire.

We are thrilled that Blue Bell chose to call Bryan County its home. The next time you pick up a pint of ice cream, just think, you’re not only getting a delicious treat but also supporting a local industry!
