God isn’t to blame for the world’s sins
pastor corner

Some want to blame God for all the problems in the world. Terror groups kill people, natural disasters occur, mankind mistreats others and God gets the blame.

This attitude usually shows that someone knows little or nothing about God. God wants and has wanted the best for mankind from the beginning. This is the nature of God.

God created man and woman on day six of the creation week, after he had provided all they needed – a place to live, food to eat, air to breathe, beauty to observe and companionship.

God also gave them the ability to choose right from wrong. He did not make them like robots, they were individuals. When Satan tempted Eve, she was overcome her own lust.

James explains lust this way: “Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man: But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed. Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death” (James 1:13-15).

This is the way Eve was tempted (Genesis 3). God had given Eve the ability to make a choice and she disobeyed God. He did not force her to sin, it was her choice to give into temptation.

God sent Christ to save mankind, yet some blame Christ for sin. This again shows a lack of Bible knowledge.

Peter wrote, “because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps: Who did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth: Who, when he was reviled, reviled not again; when he suffered, he threatened not; but committed himself to him that judgeth righteously: Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed” (1 Peter 1:21-24).

Mankind needs to look to Christ and his example. Man is the reason for sin, not God.

Christ lived a sinless life upon the earth, even overcoming direct temptations from Satan (Matt. 4:1-10).

The Hebrew writer wrote, “For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin (Heb. 4:15).

God has given man all he needs to overcome sin, but man has to make the right choice.

Man is the cause of all the religious division in the world. God sent his Son to reconcile both Jew and Gentile into one body.

“And that he might reconcile both unto God in one body by the cross, having slain the enmity thereby:” (Eph. 2:16).

Christ offered a prayer for unity just prior to his being arrested and crucified (John 17:20-21).

The desire of Christ is that all become part of His body the Church which He paid for with His very life (Acts 20:28).

God is not to blame for the wickedness in the world – God has the answer to all the problems and troubles in the world.

Man needs to look to God for the way to be forgiven of sin and to live for God. He is the solution to sin, not the cause.
