God desires to work through us

I am convinced that when most Christians read Ephesians 3:20 we stop too soon. We read it like this, “Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power”. We emphasis the fact that our God can do so much more than we can think about asking for because of His awesome power. This is all true, but we need to understand that the verse goes on to say, “that is at work within us,”. In other words, God chooses to do His great works through His people, the church.

We just came through the time where we celebrated the birth of the Christ child. In order for this event to take place, God used Mary, Joseph, the shepherds, angels, an innkeeper, and even Caesar.

As we enter into this new year, 2024, our God wants to use each one of us in order to build His church. We are called to evangelize those who have not yet decided to follow Jesus and to disciple those who have. Each one of us has a gift and purpose, so let us continually follow the path God lays out before us.

July 17th has a special place in my heart. It is my grandson Kade’s birthday. I reminded my daughter on Monday that “this time several years ago, you were about ready to pop.” I felt sorry for Kala. It was really hot and she still coached her team through summer camps and basketball summer leagues. To make up for the misery of the heat, Kade showed up within just a few hours of labor and not much of hassle.
