We have had the Thanksgiving holiday behind us for a couple of weeks now and are now deeply entrenched into the Christmas season. During that Thanksgiving season we were reminded to find things to be thankful for and ways to give thanks. The problem is that when Thanksgiving ends for many so does the giving of thanks.
To be quite honest, every single day we should find a reason to be thankful.
When we wake up in the morning, we should be thankful for another day to be alive; another day to try to make a difference in the world around us. If we think about it, there are so many things to be thankful for, like water, food, shelter and clothing and for the air we have to breath. We can thank God for the health we have and the wealth we do have. Most of us would be considered rich compared to many who live in this world.
As we continue in this Christmas season it ought to be easy for us to be thankful for the Savior, Jesus Christ, who came as a baby in a manger but then died on a cross for the sins of the world. If you are a follower of Jesus, then it is personal because you are experiencing peace, joy and eternal life made possible through Him.
Today, may we agree with the writer of Psalms when he said in 106:1, “Praise the Lord. Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his love endures forever.”
