Getting to know the Almighty
pastor corner

The other day I heard about someone who was so happy that they were able to not only attend a concert but actually meet the performer afterward. It was like a once in a lifetime opportunity and experience.

I have met other people who not only have just met some important personalities but actually know them personally. This is exciting and gives people bragging rights, but when it comes down to it, each person – know matter how popular they may be – are just human beings like the rest of us.

There is, however, someone who we have an opportunity to get to know that is different. Jeremiah 9:24 tells us that we can understand and know God.

This means that we have the opportunity to be in a personal relationship with God himself. Yes, we can have fellowship with the creator of the universe – God Almighty, who is all-powerful and all-knowing.

How does a person get to know God? The scriptures remind us that we can only know the true God through the one who is a mediator between God and mankind – Jesus Christ.

We are all born in sin and that sin separates us from God. The sacrifice of Jesus on the cross pays the penalty for our sins allowing us to be able to be at peace with our creator.

When it comes to meeting celebrities, we don’t always have a choice. In other words, it may never happen.

When it comes to having a relationship with God, the invitation is open to everyone and can happen today.
