Disappointments
pastor corner

This week is the start of what is known as the “Big Dance”, which is the year end college basketball tournament. There is a committee that picks the teams based on their judgement of a team’s worthiness to get in. The winner from each conference tournament automatically gets in. The truth is that there are several teams that feel like they have been snubbed by being left out by the selection committee each year. There are teams that won their regular season conference in some of the smaller conferences but were beaten during their conference tournament and the winner got in but they didn’t.

Life is full of disappointments, and we will continue to experience them as long as we are in this human body.

There is good news!

We won’t always be in this human body and scripture teaches us that we can live for eternity is this wonderful place Jesus has prepared for us. This is a place where there will be no disappointments.

To end up in this place is conditional; we must be in a right relationship with our heavenly Father. Scripture teaches us that in order for that to happen we need to be forgiven from our sins made possible through our faith in the sacrificial death of Jesus.

The sad news is that there will be people who live out eternity with disappointment; don’t let that be you.
