The blessings given by God

When one stops to think of all the things God has given, it is unbelievable. God’s generosity toward man is immeasurable.

Paul as he spoke from Mars Hill said, “Ye men of Athens, I perceive that in all things ye are too superstitious. For as I passed by, and beheld your devotions, I found an altar with this inscription, TO THE UNKNOWN GOD. Whom therefore ye ignorantly worship, him declare I unto you. God that made the world and all things therein, seeing that he is Lord of heaven and earth, dwelleth not in temples made with hands; Neither is worshipped with men’s hands, as though he needed anything, seeing he giveth to all life, and breath, and all things; And hath made of one blood all nations of men for to dwell on all the face of the earth, and hath determined the times before appointed, and the bounds of their habitation; That they should seek the Lord, if haply they might feel after him, and find him, though he be not far from every one of us: For in him we live, and move, and have our being; as certain also of your own poets have said, For we are also his offspring” (Acts 17:22b – 28). Paul plainly paints a picture of God’s generosity to mankind. While the above reading is lengthy it must be seen that God truly loves His creation.us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue: Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust” (2 Peter 1:3, 4). The promises God has given to those who would obey Him will see their fulfillment when one reaches heaven.

Jesus Christ is the greatest gift ever given. Man sinned and then God orchestrated man’s redemption is told in the pages of the Bible. Greater than any novel ever written, this masterpiece takes one though actual history showing how despite Satan’s many attempts to thwart God’s plan, Jesus was born, fulfilled God’s plan, died for mankind, rose the third day and ascended back to the Father, leaving His last will and testament for man to follow. It only took a few words to describe the story of the Bible, but it took many years filled with toil, tears and the blood of the Lamb of God.

This gift of Christ was given for all mankind not just a few. It includes the salvation of the souls of those who will accept the gift given just as God desires them to do so. Some say there is nothing you must do to receive this gift, just believe and it is yours. Why is it that those who teach such do not understand that believing by itself is not enough? Notice this passage, “But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him” (Heb. 11:6). The reward is promised to those who “diligently seek Him”; this means one must seek out what He desires for them to do, not what one thinks they should do.

God’s word teaches that one must believe in Jesus as the Son of God, repent of sins, confess Jesus before others, be baptized for the remission of sins and live lives for God. God has given the gift but have one must be willing to accept His gift as He prescribes.

Thinking about all that God has given, a person must ask what they have given. One needs to give themselves to God, by following His word. After obeying the gospel, one must continue to give themselves to God by living a faithful life. If one does this they will receive the reward that awaits the faithful.
