The blessing of rain
pastor corner

When people talk about rain it is usually with a negative content. Statements like, “it rained out my party or event” or “I can’t believe it’s raining today.” Even song writers have jumped on this bandwagon with songs like, “Rainy days and Mondays always get me down”, or “Raindrops keep falling on my head”.

The truth of the matter is that for the most part rain is a blessing from God. Acts 17:14 reveals this truth when it says, “He (God) has shown kindness by giving you rain from heaven and crops in their seasons; he provides you with plenty of food and fills your hearts with joy.”

The truth is that without rain there would be no crops or food.

This year on the east coast we have been blessed with a lot of rain. My yard has never looked better and I’m sure the farmers appreciate it.

When it rains I try to remember to look up and thank the good Lord for sending it. Also we need to be praying for our brothers and sisters out west that are dealing with drought and forest fires.
