The other day I was walking around the house and just happened to notice out of the corner of my eye a lily that had just bloomed. It just had one flower, but it was beautiful, and the thing is, I almost missed it. There are many weeks that go by where there is a chance that I would have never noticed this flower since it only blooms for a few days.
The truth is that many of us are so busy that we don’t take the time to see the beauty that God creates. In the Bible, in the book of Matthew we are told that we are to notice the lilies of the field of how beautiful they are and that even King Solomon, who was a king known for his extravagance in luxurious things, could not be compared to them. If we only take the time to look, so much of God’s creation is just gorgeous, from the mountains to the lakes to the oceans to the heavens. Part of God’s purpose in creating this earth is for mankind’s enjoyment.
Don’t get so busy in your life that you miss out on all the beauty around you and whisper a prayer heavenward and let God know how much you appreciate the opportunity to enjoy it.
