Appreciate mothers every day
pastor corner

This past Sunday most people in this country celebrated “Mother’s Day”.

Hopefully, this was part of something in your schedule.

One of the worst statements a husband can say to his wife is, “Why should I get you anything, after all, you ain’t my mother”.

That may be true that your wife is not your mother but if she is a mother then she deserves to be honored. And not just honored this last Sunday, one day a year, but every day.

Just think about all that a normal mother does. She is an alarm clock, cook, maid, waitress, teacher, nurse, referee, handyman, security officer, photographer, counselor, chauffeur, event planner, hairdresser, personal assistant, ATM, and much more.

Some have had to calculate how much it would cost to replace all she does, and it seems that few could afford it. If the mother in your home is a godly mother, then she is worth a whole lot more. Proverbs 31 gives us a glimpse into such a woman.

It says, “she is worth more than rubies” and such “a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised.”

As a godly mother she will lead her children in following Jesus and will teach them the godly principles from the scriptures.

So, today is another day we all have an opportunity to do what’s right, honor the mothers in your life.
