All things work together for good
pastor corner

Romans 8:28 tells us that “in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose”. This verse is easy to read and easy to remind others about but becomes much harder to apply when it comes to us.

Recently, I had something happen to me that reminded me of this verse. We had a hot water heater in the attic that sprung a leak and the water did some damage to our floors below. It’s not that we would want this to happen, but it did cause us to do some deep cleaning that we had neglected, and to get rid of things that we needed to discard. We also found some things that had fallen off dressers that we wondered what happened to. These inconveniences also caused us to appreciate the conveniences we normally live with.

We don’t always understand why things happen the way they do, but God always has a purpose and a lesson or two to teach us.

As they say, blood is thicker than water...and Hawaiian Tropic.
