A reminder to pray
pastor corner

For the last several days we have been encouraged to pray for Nancy Guthrie, who is believed to have been abducted. Yes, I have been praying and will continue to do so, but I was reminded as I read in 1 Peter 2:1 that it is our responsibility to pray for “all people”.

There are literally millions of people around the world who are missing and need prayer. There are those who are being trafficked and those who have some form of dementia who don’t know who they are or where they are at. There are runaway teens who are missing and then there are those, because of a traumatic experience have disappeared from society thinking no one cares.

Most of us will never know the names or will ever see the faces of those that are missing, but they still need to be found. First of all, we need to take time to pray, but then as we pray let’s not forget the forgotten. Maybe we need to take some time to search online for missing persons and pray for them.

Maybe when we go into Walmart and see pictures of missing children on the wall, we can stop for a couple of minutes and pray for them to be found. God knows who they are and does care, and at the least, we can show that we care by praying for these people as a whole
