A never-changing God
pastor corner

As I was mowing my grass recently, I started thinking about how differently my yard looks compared to when I bought it back in 2001. I have to cut a lot more grass because the house used to sit in the woods.

There have been 30-40 trees removed (either because of storms or personal choice) and flower gardens added. Then I thought about Richmond Hill. As I drive down Ford Avenue, there is so many businesses added that were not here back when I relocated. Then I started thinking about the area where I was raised and all of the neighbors that I knew who lived there then; most who have died or have moved away. In other words, life around us is always changing.

There is one who will never change, one who will always be of the same character as He has always been.

Of course, I am talking about God.

James 1:17 reminds us that our God “does not change like shifting shadows”. Jesus Christ, who is God in human flesh, is described as being “the same yesterday and today and forever” according to Hebrews 13:8.

So, if you will put your trust in God and get into a right relationship with Him through the sacrificial death of His Son Jesus Christ, then you can depend on His constant love and faithfulness.

He will never fail you nor turn His back on you.
