A message after Easter
pastor corner

Easter Sunday was this past week and probably the majority of churches saw a significant increase in attendance. For most churches this is the highest attendance day of the year.

The sad truth is that there are many CE (Christmas and Easter) Christians who don’t see a need to be among a fellowship more often. They don’t see a need for a deeper commitment that in reality will benefit them as well as others who benefit from their giftedness.

I think if the Apostle Paul was here today and was speaking the week after Easter, he would share the message of Romans 12:1 which reads, “Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God-- this is your true and proper worship.” He is challenging believers in Jesus, in response to what has been done for them, to be fully surrendered and dedicated to the cause of Christianity.

The writer of Hebrews, if speaking right after Easter, could repeat what he said in chapter 10, verses 24-25, which reads, “And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another -- and all the more as you see the day approaching.”

From this day forward, may each one of us who call ourselves followers of Jesus, be fully committed to the faith we hope in.
