Christmas should be a time when each one of us gets joy out of giving to others. John 3:16 reminds us of the fact that God gave His one and only Son. It reads like this: “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only son that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”

There are 4 truths I see here. First, this Son, Jesus, was given out of the motivation of love. Second, this Son, Jesus, was given to a sinful world that needs him so much. No matter who we are or what we have done Jesus was given for us. Third, this Son, Jesus, can become a reality in the lives of those who will trust or believe in Him. Fourth, this Son, Jesus, will determine the destiny of each one of us. For those who accept Him, heaven awaits, but for those who reject Him the wrath of God awaits.

The great news is that we get to choose what we will do with this gift offered to mankind.
