7 dispensations, part 8

Dr. Lawrence Butler

The Bridge Church, Pembroke

We now come to the point that God brings a conclusion to the period of grace (the previous dispensation) and presents to the world the promised kingdom headed by Jesus Christ.

The prayers of saints have been answered. The seed of the woman was bruised on the heel at Calvary (Jesus suffered, but was not defeated), but the head of the serpent (Satan) was bruised (Gen. 3:15), leading to his weakening and ultimate destruction.

For all those years of grace, as the gospel was preached while Satan laughed, mocked and resisted, the church persisted in believing and preaching the Word of God.

The struggle would one day end and a better world would come into view. That day has finally arrived.

This last dispensation of man’s history on earth is the greatest since Eden. The promises of God are fulfilled in a kingdom where peace is supreme.

The period of grace ended with a war such as was never before experienced by man. Christ with His returning saints are victorious over the powers of evil led by Satan and the Anti-Christ. This is the famous Battle of Armageddon predicted by John the Revelator. The promise given to Isaiah many years ago now comes into existence. “For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder… Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever…” (Isa. 9:6-7).

This period of time lasts for one thousand years according to Revelation 20:4. There are other events that occur at the end of this period, but for now let’s just enjoy the promise of a world of peace ruled over by our King of Kings and Lord of Lords. Don’t forget, we get to rule with Him! (Rev. 20:4).
