Claudia Mae Greene

Scottsboro, Ala.

Mrs. Claudia Mae Greene, age 98, of Scottsboro, Ala., formerly of Jacksonville, Fla., died Saturday morning, Aug. 12, at Highlands Medical and Rehab Facility.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Luther Edward Greene, daughter and son-in-law, Laveda Greene Garrett and William Harris (Big Buck) Garrett.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Ollie Greene Wood and Bobby G. Wood, Scottsboro, Ala.; three granddaughters, Christy Wood (Rod) Gogan, Scottsboro, Ala., Cynthia Jo Wood, Myrtle Beach, S.C. and Cathy Wood (David) Hall, Nashville, Tenn.; three grandsons, William H. Buck (Buck) Garrett, Wiley E. (Eddie) Garrett, Wayne Thomas Garrett, five great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, all of Jacksonville, Fla.

She was the eighth of nine children (seven brothers and one sister) and the last living child born to William Thomas Cook and Julia Florence Sawyer Cook.

The funeral service will be held this morning, Aug. 15 at 11 a.m. at Morrison Memorial Chapel with Elder Spencer Moore officiating. Burial will be at Olive Branch Cemetery, Ellabell.

Flanders Morrison Funeral Home, Pembroke, is in charge of the arrangements.

James C. Weaver, III

James C. "Jimmy" Weaver, III, age 53, died Thursday Aug. 9, at his residence after a long battle with cancer. His wife and son were with him. He was born in Savannah, GA in 1954, and graduated from Groves High School in 1972. He was a Methodist.

Jimmy served in the U.S. Navy and worked for Ikon Office Solutions as a technician for 23 years.

He is survived by his wife Becky Weaver of Bloomingdale, Ga.; one son, Joshua Weaver of Bloomingdale; two daughters, Julie Weaver of Alcade, N.M. and Nicole Fraley (Derick) of Bloomingdale and one grandson, Roman N. Fraley; mother and step-father, Shirley and Alton Lanier of Richmond Hill; a sister, Fonda W. Parker (Mike) of Richmond Hill; two brothers, Lance Weaver of Garden City, Randy Lanier of Richmond Hill; three nieces, and three nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father James C. Weaver, Jr.

A Memorial Service was held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 11, in the Chapel of Fairhaven Funeral Home in Savannah.

Anita Marie Smith

Port Wentworth

Anita Marie Smith, age 90, passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 27 at Westview Nursing Home.

Mrs. Smith was a resident of Port Wentworth for over 55 years, and was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church.

Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Mary Ann Smith and Nathan Earl Wolfe of Pembroke; six brothers, Bill Lewis of Savannah, Lindy Lewis of Savannah, Dicky Lewis of Savannah, Ray Lewis of Savannah, Ken Lewis of Savannah, and Eddie Lewis of Jacksonville, Fla.; one sister, Peggy Barbee of Savannah; one grandson and granddaughter-in-law, Nathan Earl and Carlene Wolfe II of Pembroke; one granddaughter and grandson-in-law, Cindy and Bill Rizzetta, of Tampa Bay, Fla.; and two great grandsons, Bryan and Bradley Rizzetta, of Tampa Bay, Fla.

A Memorial Service was held on Monday, Dec. 3, at 11:00 A.M. at Flanders Morrison Funeral Home. A private burial followed.

Flanders Morrison Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.
