Ruth Beasley
Wichita Falls, Texas
Ruth Beasley, 65, died Sunday, Jan. 21, at United Regional Health Care System in Wichita Falls, Texas.
She was a native of Harris, Okla. and lived the past seven years in Wichita Falls. She was a member of Byers Assembly of God in Byers, Texas and retired from Great Dane Trailers after 17 years.
She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Curtis Stewart (Robbie) of Richmond Hill; a daughter and son-in-law, Nannette Watts (Neil) of Sopchopty, Fla.; mother and step-father, Vivian and Jim Bobbie of Wichita Falls; and a brother, Wayne Brosam of Holiday, Texas.
Visitation will be held today (Jan. 25), from 6-8 p.m. at Carter Funeral Home Bryan Chapel.
A Graveside service will be Friday, Jan. 26 at 11 a.m. at Greenwich Section of Bonaventure Cemetery.
Carter Funeral Home Bryan Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.

Ellen Futch Davis
Claxton
Ms. Ellen Futch Davis, age 56 of Claxton, died Saturday evening, Jan. 20.
She enjoyed fishing and was of the Baptist faith.
She was preceded in death by her sons, Anthony and Michael Davis.
Survivors include her mother, Georgia Futch of Pooler; four sisters, Linda Cottis of Savannah, Donna Bridges, Theresa Johnson and Deborah Boyles all of Statesboro; two brothers, Ronald Futch of Effingham and Randall Futch of Claxton.
A Graveside service was held 11 a.m. Wednesday at Beulah Cemetery.
Morrison Funeral Home, Pembroke, was in charge of the arrangements.

Johnnie Ray Powell
Pembroke
Mr. Johnnie Ray Powell, age 75 of Pembroke, died Friday morning, Jan. 19 after an extended illness.
Mr. Powell was a disabled veteran of the Army where he was stationed in Alaska. He was a former employee of Union Camp, Georgia Pacific, and Jones Building Supply; and was self employed for the last several years. He was an avid fisherman and gardener and was a member of Olive Branch Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his son, Glenn Powell.
Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Mrs. Betty M. Powell of Pembroke; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Don Powell of Pembroke and David “Pigboy” and Lisa Powell of Black Creek; one brother, Henry “Junior” Powell of Oak Park; four sisters, Evell Lewis of Reidsville, Ethel Clifton of Lyons, Alma Morris of Savannah, and Virginia Schefer of Colorado; three grandsons, Matthew, Michael, and Jacob Powell; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The funeral service was held 3 p.m. Monday at Morrison Memorial Chapel with Rev. Dan Bryant officiating. Burial followed in Northside Cemetery.

George E. Roberts
Lake George
George E. Roberts, 84, died on Jan. 18 at his residence.
Mr Roberts was born in Lowell, Mass. For the last 16 years he lived in the Lake George area prior to that he made his home in New Hampshire. He was a retired pipefitter having worked for Local Union 537. He was a member of the Pipefitters Association, a US Army Veteran of WWII and a former volunteer for the Marine Rescue in Richmond Hill.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara Roberts of Lake George; one daughter, Linda Rizzo of Milford, N.H.; three grandchildren, Christine Taylor of Wilton, N.H., Angela Tucker of Hancock, N.H. and Adam Rizzo of Franklin, N.H.; two great-grandchildren, Kaylee Taylor of Wilton, N.H. and Natasha Rizzo of Hancock, N.H.; four step-children, four step-grandchildren, and four step-great-grandchildren.
Services were held at 1 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 23, in the Richmond Hill Funeral Home, Cox Chapel.

William Eugene Saxon
Richmond Hill
William Eugene Saxon, 75, went home to be with the Lord after a long courageous battle with cancer, on Thursday, Jan. 18 at Savannah Hospice House.
He was born in Screven County and lived most of his life in Richmond Hill. He was a long time member of Richmond Hill First Baptist Church and a faithful worker with the Truck Stop Ministry for five years and was a member of Rusty Holt’s Adult Sunday School Class. He retired from CSX Railroad after 41 years and was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and served in many community organizations.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Beulah B. Saxon, father, William Edward Saxon and a brother, Carlton L. Saxon.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 46 years, Gloria B. Saxon; one daughter, Pamela Saxon Sconyers of Richmond Hill; one granddaughter, Whitney Nicole Sconyers; one sister-in-law, Shirley Cowart; one brother-in-law, Ralph B. Bashlor, Jr. (Pat) all of Richmond Hill; three aunts, three uncles and several nieces, nephews and his loving pet Trissy.
The funeral service was held Monday, Jan. 22 at 11 a.m. at Carter Funeral Home Bryan Chapel. Burial was in Richmond Hill First Baptist Church Cemetery.
Remembrances can be made to the First Baptist Church of Richmond Hill Building Fund or Hospice of Savannah, Inc.

Dorothy Luann Claxton Yawn
Ellabell
Mrs. Dorothy Luann “Lucy” Claxton Yawn, age 58 of Ellabell, died Monday morning, Jan. 22 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Savannah after an extended illness.
Mrs. Yawn was a native of Montgomery County and lived in Savannah before moving to Ellabell in 1986. She was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by parents, C.B. and Emma Lou Claxton and two brothers, Tommy and Roy Claxton.
Survivors include her husband of 43 years, Dallas G. Yawn of Ellabell; one son, Dallas Keith Yawn of Ellabell; two daughters and sons-in-law, Joyce L. and Greg Shinall of Ellabell and Tracey A. and Michael Tuten of Pembroke; one brother, Ottis Claxton of Savannah; four grandchildren, Dayna and husband Dustin Linton, Daron Tuten, Candace and Zach Shinall; two great-grandchildren, Randi and Skylar Luann Linton; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The funeral service was held 3 p.m. Wednesday at Pembroke Assembly of God with Rev. Steve Hester and Rev. Regina Santos officiating. Interment followed in Northside Cemetery.
