Voters approve ESPLOST, Sunday alcohol sales in Pembroke

Bryan County voters said yes Tuesday both to renewing ESPLOST and $100 million in bonds to build a new high school in South Bryan along with other projects. The measure passed 846-344.

And, in Pembroke, voters approved the Sunday sale of packaged beer and wine in retail stores and alcoholic drinks in restaurants. The Sunday sales measure passed 103-47. Sunday package sales passed 99-51.

All results are unofficial until certified by the Secretary of State's office. 

Turnout was low, according to Bryan County Election Supervisor Cindy Reynolds. She said only 5.51 percent of voters participated in the election.
