Pembroke's annual Christmas celebration weeks away

The 25th Annual Christmas in Pembroke Parade and Festival will be held Dec. 13.

The event is sponsored by the Bryan County 4-H Program and the City of Pembroke.

This is the sole fund-raiser benefitting all 4-H’ers in Bryan County. The festival begins at 9:00 am with arts and crafts, food, entertainment, carnival games and prizes, silent auction, moon walk, large slide, bungee jump and rock wall, and more.

There will be no admission fee for the festival and parade. The parade will begin at 11 a.m. Santa will end the parade and bring Christmas cheer to all. There also will be a 1-mile and 5 mile Run-Walk-Stroll with many different age categories in male and female divisions.

Entrants can run, walk or stroll their wheelchairs in the one mile run.

The five mile is open to runners. The 1 mile begins at 8 a.m., with the five 5 immediately following.

Entrants are encouraged to pre-register and receive a free T-shirt with entry fee. However, registration will begin at 8 am on race-day.

Trophies will be awarded in all divisions, with overall male and female winners as well. Awards ceremony for the race will be at 10 a.m.

Motorcycles and classic cars are invited to participate in the parade and then enter the car and motorcycle shows. Several categories with various awards will be offered.

The silent auction will end at 3 p.m. with winners being announced on the stage at this time.

Local talent, including Driven, will be performing all throughout the day.
