Thanksgiving day fire displaces family
Thanksgiving fire
A Bryan County family  has been temporarily displaced following a fire at their home in the 300 block of Kelly Davis Road Thursday night.

According to Bryan County Fire and Emergency Services Battalion Chief Chris Youmans. the fire was reported to Bryan County 911 when a neighbor spotted what she thought was a tree on fire.

When firefighters arrived they encountered a fully engulfed fire located at the rear corner of the residence, which was beginning to spread into the roof line and entering the attic.

The firefighters were able to quickly knock down the fire, according to Youmans, preventing further damage to the home.

Youmans said the cause of the fire is under investigation.

The number of people that were in the house at the time of the fire  could not be determined, but the family, whose names were not released, will be temporarily displaced due to the electricity being shut off.

No injuries were reported.
