The condition of Dalton Raulerson, the Pembroke teen who got struck by lightning Aug. 12 during football practice at Pinewood Christian Academy, has improved greatly, according to the family.

Tonya Raulerson, Dalton’s mother, said he remained in the pediatric intensive care unit as of Tuesday, "but he’ll hopefully be moving to a different room in the next day or two."

She said the doctors continue to run tests, but "there appears to be no damage from the lightning and they have found nothing that would indicate he would have future problems. It will be a long recovery, but he’s very lucky not to be burned internally."
