The Georgia Department of Labor’s Savannah Career Center will help JCB, one of the world’s largest manufacturers of construction equipment, recruit workers for its facility in Pooler in Chatham County.

The recruitment will be from 3-7 p.m. Friday and  from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday at the JCB North American headquarters, located at 2000 Bamford Blvd. in Pooler. The company’s North American headquarters is located off Interstate 95 near exit 102, which is Highway 80 East.

The company will be hiring workers to manufacture a new range of skid steer products. Workers in the following areas will be needed: lasers/press brakes, machining/CNC, material handling, assembly-line, painting, quality control, and MIG welding. While previous manufacturing experience is preferred, it is not essential.

Applicants should bring all the information about themselves to complete application forms, including their qualifications and names, dates and contact numbers of previous employers. Military veterans are especially encouraged to apply. Also, applicants must be at least 18 years of age and have at least a high school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) certificate. The employer says selected applicants will undergo a background check and drug screening test.

Officials say the company provides competitive pay and benefits.
