Imagine answering your phone or sending a text message by using the fabric of the trendy jacket you are wearing. Google is seeking to make something like this a possibility with Project Jacquard.

Google recently announced it is using a newly developed type of thread to create clothes that can act as touchscreens for smartphones and judge gestures.

The thread is woven into a grid with others to create fabric that can be turned into clothing. Once the clothing is designed and made, a tiny connector makes the fabric respond to touch.

This new development in wearable technology follows the failed Google Glass project, but the effectiveness and possibilities of the project are still yet to be seen.
