MACON - City leaders in Macon say they're trying to come up with a plan to stop a recent spree of gun and gang violence.

Eight men were shot and wounded within four hours early Tuesday in the latest outbreak of violence.

Police tell The Telegraph of Macon (http://bit.ly/p8jGEy) they suspect the shootings are gang-related.

Days after a wave of teen violence last month, Macon City Council President James Timley says he reached out to all council members, emailing them to ask for their suggestions on ways to help.

He says he out of 15 members, he only got three responses.

Public Safety Chairman Virgil Watkins submitted a plan, and said he would like to see the city bring back midnight basketball.
