Dangerous heat to continue across state

ATLANTA - Extremely hot and humid weather will continue across Georgia.
Forecasters at the National Weather Service have issued a heat advisory Tuesday for Southeast Georgia from 11 a.m. until 8 this evening. Temperatures are expected to be in the 90s, but the humidity will make if feel as hot as 110 degrees outside.
The service warns that the risk of heat-related illness is especially high because of the duration of the ongoing heat wave.
Don't expect much relief at night. Temperatures are only expected to dip into the mid-70s after the sun sets.
The heat advisory will expand to include metro Atlanta on Wednesday.
Forecasters say the young, the elderly and those with heart problems are most at risk in the intense heat. Precautions include drinking plenty of fluids, staying out of the sunshine and indoors, in air conditioning, if possible. Never leave children or pets in vehicles with the windows rolled up.
