A Brooklet couple found dead Sunday in their River Retreat home were victims of a murder-suicide, Bulloch County Sheriff Lynn Anderson said.
Sheriff’s investigators believe George Wayne Bridges, 51, shot his wife, Thamara Celinda-Suarez Bridges, 37, in the head before turning the weapon on himself, he said.
Investigators responded to the scene around noon Sunday and found the couple on the living room couch, both with a single gunshot wound to the head, he said. The firearm was recovered at the scene.
“Subsequent investigations determined there were a number of stress factors in the home prior to the deaths, but no definite motive has been found,” Anderson said.
The case is being investigated by sheriff’s Investigator Walter Deal. Anyone with information is asked to call Deal at (912) 764-1788.
