ATLANTA— State Rep. Jan Tankersley, R-Brooklet, has been appointed to the Southern Legislative Conference Fiscal Affairs and Government Operations Committee.
State House Speaker David Ralston, R-Blue Ridge, announced the appointment of Tankersley, who represents District 160, which includes Bryan County.
“It is an honor to be appointed by the speaker to serve on this committee,” Tankersley said. “This is a great opportunity to work with leaders from other southern states and develop the best fiscal practices for Georgia.”
The committee is one of six SLC standing committees.  According to SLC, the committee focuses on fiscal issues that impact state budgets and finances. The Committee’s membership includes many of the finance and appropriations chairs from across the South along with other prominent fiscal players, both legislators and legislative staff, in the different state legislatures.
