The next 40 days could be full of fun challenges for you and your spouse that will help you both grow in your marriage if you're willing to read.

These challenges can be found in The Love Dare, a 40-chapter book with one challenge per chapter for married couples, written by Alex and Stephen Kendrick. The challenges, which are each inspired by Bibles verses, look to help married partners build a stronger relationship.

Each challenge includes a dare for married couples. The first days dare asks partners to demonstrate patience and not to say anything negative to each other. The second day asks married couples to share an act of kindness. The third day challenges couples to buy each other something that lets them know they were thinking of each other. These types of challenges continue until day 40, when the book asks couples to recognize their love as a covenant bond.

The book resurfaced on tumblr this week when one blogger wrote that the books challenges are great for reigniting the spark between two married partners.

Regardless of whether your marriage is healthy and strong or unsettled, the 40-day journey is what every married couple needs, the blogger wrote. Take The Love Dare to learn the keys to true intimacy and enjoy a dynamic marriage.

The challenges help married couples tackle some common marital issues in a fun way, the blogger wrote. And the challenges arent far off from the methods that experts suggest when couples have some disputes.

For example, Carol Sorgen of WebMD suggests that when couples have communication issues, they should work together and exhibit patience with each other much like The Love Dare suggests with its challenges.

Similarly, Susan Heitler, Ph.D., wrote for Psychology Today that couples with marital issues shouldnt shy away from tackling one issue over another. By tackling issues together, couples will communicate with each other and learn to act cooperatively, which is also what The Love Dare suggests.

No more aiming to get your way, Heitler wrote. Instead, when you have differences, express your underlying concerns, listen to your partners concerns, and create a solution responsive to all the concerns of both of you.

But at the very least, these challenges help couples come together. It can make couples see new ways to celebrate their relationship and discover new qualities about each other.

Grant funding totaling $93,458 has been awarded to the Georgia Motorcycle Safety Program (GMSP) by the Governor’s Office of Highway Safety. The approved funding will be used to increase motorcycle safety awareness and outreach by encouraging all motorists and motorcyclists to Share the Road.

“The need for motorcycle safety programs is greater than ever, and this support from GOHS enables motorcycle safety programs and impaired riding initiatives to reach riders and non-riders alike” said Commissioner Spencer R. Moore. “Thank you GOHS for helping (the Department of Driver Services) and GMSP educate and encourage all Georgia drivers to ‘Share the Road.’”

The grant allows DDS to further develop the Motorcycle Safety Outreach Program by continuing to fund a position to promote state and national safety initiatives. The GMSP outreach coordinator researches, coordinates and helps maintain an adequate presence at industry events, local schools and colleges, regional meetings and festivals to increase awareness of motorcycles on the roadways and provide the most current information on motorcycle safety initiatives.

Visitors to a GMSP event display are also encouraged to sign up for regular newsletters which provide additional safety information, as well as review the motorcycle safety message on other social media platforms.

GMSP regulates motorcycle training for new riders, as well as seasoned riders, who want to learn how to ride a motorcycle legally and safely. The program is based on a continuum of learning and therefore offers three entry points to rider education.

Students participating in the Basic Riders Course do not need specialized motorcycle equipment, as the GMSP provides both a motorcycle and a helmet to class participants. Upon successful completion of the course, participants receive a 90-day license waiver card that exempts them from both the written and on-cycle skills tests needed to obtain a Class M license in the state of Georgia.

Please visit the DDS website at www.dds.georgia.gov for many online services including the convenience of enrolling in a GMSP training class and accessing many licensing services.
