Soldier dies from injuries on Fort Stewart
Tactical vehicle rolls over; four others injuried

A Fort Stewart Soldier died of injuries received in
a roll over of a Army tactical vehicle in the installation training area
Thursday, the post's Public Affairs Office said.

Specialist Julia A. Diaz, 21, Headquarters and Headquarters Company,
703d Brigade Support Battalion, was pronounced dead at Winn Army Community
Hospital at 12:45 p.m.

Four other Soldiers involved in the incident were treated at the hospital
and released.  The accident occurred at approximately noon Thursday on
road FS50 off of Georgia Highway 144 in the Fort Stewart training area, PAO said.

The vehicle involved was a High-Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicle (HMMWV).

Spc. Diaz entered the Army from Cheyenne, Wyoming, January 2006 and
arrived at her unit at Fort Stewart in August 2006. She worked as a Heavy
Petroleum Vehicle Operator.  The incident is currently under investigation
by the Army.
