Rotary Club fundraiser supports students and senior citizens

The Rotary Club of Richmond Hill invites the community to enjoy the club’s annual fundraiser on Friday, March 10 from 6–9 p.m. at Belhaven, located at 1000 Belfast River Road in Richmond Hill.

This fun event celebrates 27 years for the Rotary Club of Richmond Hill and will include an evening of oysters, buffet, drinks, live music, silent auction and raffle.

Tickets are still available to attend this event and more importantly raise funds to support the civic group’s initiatives helping those in need in our community including the James Gardner and Mary Bean scholarships for young people in Richmond Hill.

Tickets to the event are $100 each and include food, drinks, music and an entry to the raffle with prizes of a Daniel Defense rifle and $750 cash.

Individuals do not have to be present to win the raffle drawing and for those unable to attend raffle tickets are only $25. We have many wonderful silent auction items and are thankful to local businesses and individuals for their sponsorships and donation of prizes” Schmidt said.

Rotary is an organization of business and professional leaders united worldwide who provide humanitarian service, encourage high ethical standards in all vocations and help build goodwill and peace in the world. Rotarians contribute their time, energy and passion to sustainable, long-term projects in local communities across the globe.

Rotary Club of Richmond Hill gives back to the community throughout the year with initiatives like the Senior Citizens Programs, educational sponsorships and good causes like the Presidents Fund which help local schools. They also focus on international Rotary initiatives such as Alzheimer’s Research and Polio eradication.
