Work on area roads continues tonight through next week, according to the Georgia Department of Transportation.

Drivers should expect delays and when possible seek alternate routes, GDOT said. Drivers are asked to slow down in work zones, pay attention and watch for workers.

Lane closures by county are scheduled as follows:
 
Bryan and Liberty Counties
Interstate 95 between Mileposts (MP) 66 to 86
Nightly double lane closures for paving operations
Saturday through Friday 7 p.m. until 7 a.m.
 
Chatham County
County Road 787 (Island Expressway) between Oatland Island Road to Elba Island Road
Clearing and median construction for bridge replacement project
Single lane closures in both directions
Monday through Friday 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.
 
S.R. 21 at Grange Road
Tuesday the new Tuesday new traffic signals becomes fully operational
