Road construction planned for this week

Georgia Department of Transportation continues to improve highway infrastructure throughout Southeast Georgia. As a result, work on construction and maintenance projects will continue this week. Major projects of interest that will likely impact traffic are listed below.

 All work subject to change due to weather or other factors. Motorists are cautioned to reduce their speed while traveling through work zones, pay attention and watch for workers.

Bryan County
I-95 daily lane closures 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. for vegetation removal
 
I-16 Exit 143 Interchange Ramp Closures --
Tuesday through Friday, 7p.m. to 7 a.m.
Weekends – 7 p.m. Friday continuing through 7 a.m. Monday
All ramps will be affected but only one at a time.
 
SR 144-Widening Project --                  
Rabbit Hill Road Closure
Detour via Rabbit Hill Rd. to Port Royal Road
Closure in place until drainage pipe installment is completed  
Brisbon Road Closure
Closure in place until drainage pipe installment is completed
Detour via message boards and detour signs.
SR 144 between Holy Hill Road and Strathy Hall Road
Single Lane Closures for Embankment placement and paving operations
Sunday through Friday, day and night except between the hours of 6:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.


Chatham County
I-95 Daily lane closures 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. for vegetation removal
 
Island Expressway - Oatland Island Road to Elba Island Road
Single Lane closures for bridge replacement project
Monday through Friday 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.
 
US 80 between Stagecoach Road and Old Osteen Road
Lane shift with speed reduction required for Jimmy Deloach Extension Project
 
US 17/SR 25 South of Ponderosa Rd. to South of Ogeechee River Bridge
Single Lane Closures for Milling and resurfacing
Sunday through Saturday 7 p.m. to 6 a.m.
 
SR 26/HWY 80 between Bull River to Lazeretto Creek
Lane Closures with Flagging Operation for Resurfacing
Sunday through Thursday 7 p.m. to 6 a.m.
