Richmond Hill Middle School officials said their “main vision is to create a mock wetland on our campus that will allow students from all grade levels to collect and analyze data from the wetland and be exposed to real life applications using STEM.”

Officials said “each grade level will study different aspects of the wetlands and other environmental concerns.  Our proposal fosters real world learning and will allow students to become citizen scientists.  The proposal will foster a deeper understanding of the environment, its function, and how to positively impact it.  Developing a passion for STEM and the environment will benefit all learners, allowing them to be an advocate for positive change. “

The five proposals that receive the most votes will receive the $100,000 grant. Winning this proposal will offer a wonderful experience for the students within our community, school officials added.
